Birmingham based Management Accountant for a Franchised Main Dealer.

Salary: £38,000 + Company Car

Overall purpose: To produce regular and precise management accounts and notes for both branch purposes (Departmental and General Managers) and the group (Head Office). To embrace all financial procedures and policies and, most importantly, be responsible for protecting company assets especially cash, debtors and stocks. Meeting Brand deadlines with the timely production of monthly management accounts with supporting schedules and reconciliation including composite submission. To have a direct input into the control and reduction of costs throughout the dealerships, specifically overheads.

Key Tasks:

  • To produce accurate monthly and annual management accounts along with notes, to company deadlines.
  • Balance sheet reconciliation, ensuring accruals and prepayments are accurately recorded.
  • To support supervision of sales administration staff and accounting functions including sales and purchase ledger.
  • To take responsibility for producing monthly payroll return and addressing staff queries.
  • React to internal and external auditors' requests and take control over the production of year end returns (which are then assimilated into group statutory accounts).
  • To be responsible for preparing forecasts and plans as dictated by the group and Brand.
  • Prepare and complete the Brand composite returns to Brand deadlines.
  • To follow company procedures on debtor meetings, keeping under limits of debts and take control of the debt collection process.
  • Take overall responsibility for departmental cash and subsequent banking.
  • Insist on regular cash reconciliations.
  • Reconciliation of car sales, stock reports, funding reconciliations and vehicle ledgers.
  • Mastermind the monthly physical stock check of used cars and bi-annual parts stock checks.
  • To control the company's assets and maintain the fixed assets register.

Experience: Ideally CIMA/ACCA or QBE, Kerridge or Pinnacle very useful. You must have Motor trade experience to be considered.
