Job Duties
Modern Apprenticeship - Machining Applications are invited from enthusiastic individuals who are interested in commencing as Apprentices in July 2025. All training provided is in accordance with EMTA recommendations. Applicants should preferably have or be working towards standard grade passes in Maths and Physics.
Our Machining Apprentices are involved in highly skilled, complex and precision work at our facility in Arbroath, machining components from various materials.
What Does the Apprenticeship Involve?
- A 4-year apprenticeship to become qualified with an NC in Mechanical Engineering.
- Your first year will be spent at Angus Training Group learning the fundamentals of manufacturing, including machining, assembling and inspection.
- You will then join us at the Halliburton manufacturing facility, receiving training on various machine tools & Inspection equipment used in the manufacture of a range of Halliburton Completion products.
- We use a variety of machines to manufacture components, such as CNC lathes and Mills as well as other specialist machines like Hones and Gun Drills. You will learn how to operate these, creating components to meet exacting standards according to design specifications.
Candidates should also apply to Angus Training Group to arrange an aptitude test to assess suitability for the apprenticeship.
