Are you ready to lead the technical direction of gas turbine operations and shape the future of sustainable energy? We are looking for a Gas Turbine Technical Head to join a forward-thinking, international energy company that is driving innovation and excellence across its fleet.

About the Role

As the Gas Turbine Technical Head, you’ll act as the technical authority across a diverse range of gas turbine assets. You will support new-build specifications, through-life performance, inspections, repairs, and upgrades—ensuring best practices and cutting-edge solutions are delivered at every stage. This is a leadership role where you will mentor technical teams, oversee technical development, and provide strategic guidance on complex engineering matters. Your work will contribute directly to the evolution of energy generation and help shape a cleaner, more efficient future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the subject matter expert for gas turbines (excluding combustion, fuels & emissions) across the asset portfolio
  • Provide technical consultancy and strategic input into engineering projects and ongoing fleet support
  • Lead and contribute to root cause investigations, technical audits, and performance reviews
  • Coach and mentor team members while maintaining oversight of technical competencies and development
  • Evaluate modification proposals, oversee return-to-service decisions, and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to support innovation, research, and development in gas turbine services

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Extensive technical experience with gas turbines, ideally gained with an OEM
  • Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent technical experience
  • Strong grasp of power generation gas turbines (large and medium scale)
  • Excellent communication skills—able to simplify complex issues
  • Proven ability to manage and deliver multiple technical projects
  • Strong coaching, leadership, and team development abilities
  • High technical proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • Competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong focus on health, safety, security, and environment (HSSE)

Desirable:

  • Chartered Engineer status or equivalent technical accreditation
  • Experience with aeroderivative or small-scale gas turbines
  • Knowledge of inspection and condition assessment technologies
  • Background with operators of gas turbine assets
  • Experience in performance testing or data analysis
  • Aware of regulatory considerations for gas turbine operations
  • Willingness to travel and a valid driving licence
