In-House Legal Counsel (Conveyancing) – Join a Leading Property Business

Location: City of London (3 days in office, 2 from home)

Are you a seasoned conveyancing solicitor with a passion for driving efficiency and leading high-performing teams? Our client, a market leader in property transactions, is seeking an In-House Legal Counsel (Conveyancing) to play a pivotal role in managing and optimising their legal property processes.

About the Role:

As In-House Legal Counsel, you will take ownership of the entire conveyancing function, overseeing high-volume property transactions and ensuring a seamless and efficient process. You will work closely with external legal partners and internal teams to enhance operational performance, identify process improvements, and manage risk effectively. This is a hands-on leadership role where your legal expertise will directly influence business success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Oversight: Audit current conveyancing operations, identify areas for improvement, and implement scalable solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Process Management: Lead the end-to-end conveyancing process for property acquisitions and sales, ensuring transactions progress smoothly and within commercial timeframes.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop a team of para-legals, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring best-in-class service delivery.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with external solicitors, internal teams, and leadership to align legal processes with business objectives.
  • Risk & Compliance: Advise on legal considerations in property transactions, manage AML compliance, and oversee in-house legal risk.
  • Operational Excellence: Source and onboard external law firms, streamline processes, and leverage technology to drive efficiency.
