We are currently recruiting for a passionate and proactive Work Coach to join an organisation that supports adults with learning difficulties in achieving employment, volunteering, and self-employment goals. Key Details: Salary: £25,081 – £27,453 per annum (SP4/5), plus an excellent benefits package and mileage reimbursement. Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week. Location: Durham/Newcastle/Hexham/Home Working, with travel across multiple sites and significant work within the community.This exciting role offered on a permanent basis is generously funded by a charitable organisation and focuses on empowering individuals through tailored skills development, training, and work experience placements. What You’ll Be Doing: Collaborating with health, education, and employment services to identify and support clients into suitable roles. Preparing clients for the job market, including job applications, interviews, and workplace readiness. Securing work experience placements, volunteering opportunities, and paid employment for clients. Providing ongoing mentoring and in-work support for clients and guidance for hosting employers. Promoting services such as Access to Work, Disability Confident, and other DWP benefits to support client success.About You You’ll bring experience of supporting vulnerable adults into employment or volunteering, and ideally have worked with individuals with learning difficulties or complex needs. Partnership working with schools, employers, or community organisations is key, and you’ll have confident IT skills. Essential Requirements: Career experience or qualifications in advice, guidance, social care, or education. A full UK driving licence and access to transport (or eligibility for Access to Work schemes). Strong organisational and communication skills.Desirable Skills: Training in disability support, such as positive behaviour support or autism awareness.
