We’re looking for a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our growing R&D Team. The role will involve the understanding and analysis of firmware and algorithm requirements and the latest IoT Security Standards. You will be responsible for the specifications, design, implementation, and testing of hardware products that interface with our cloud software.

You’ll be part of a small team and will have the ability to influence the design and implementation of innovative new products. You’ll have the satisfaction of seeing a project through from inception to release, so we are looking for someone who can bring a solution-focused, positive approach.

  • Leading the design and development of firmware under the guidance of the Head of R&D according to the needs of the project.
  • Performing root cause analysis of assigned software defects and implements solutions.
  • Working independently and also closely with the project team, other teams to engage with colleagues to learn, contribute, brainstorm, converge on technical designs and discussions.
  • Following SDLC processes, maintaining code quality by leading on best practices, code reviews and automated testing.
  • Mentoring & coaching more junior engineers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
  • High level of experience in a similar firmware engineering role, proficiency in embedded C and/or C++.
  • FreeRTOS, RT-Linux, Threadx, etc.
  • Full software development life cycle experience including using git, Confluence and Linear.
  • Experience of testing frameworks for automated unit, functional and integration testing.
  • Understanding of electricity fundamentals (voltage, current, power) as well as electrical technologies like inverters, batteries and solar power will be advantageous.
