We are currently recruiting for a Lift Service Engineer to be based in the South, covering London, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire regions. Ideally they will be based in the St Albans/Hemel Hempstead area. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out routine servicing of lift equipment, including minor repair work and the routine replacement of components in accordance with approved company procedures (PPE, PDA etc). This is a full time and permanent role based out of our Northfleet Office.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- To rectify and reduce faults on lift equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning.
- Checking the lift function as part of maintenance, checks to include speed, motor start/stop, weight, noise temperature and power supply using approved company issued tooling and protective equipment.
- Carry out the routine inspection, adjustment, of lift installations in accordance with approved procedures. Reinstate lift and complete service log cards and PDA.
- Carrying out fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals and appropriate test equipment, restoring equipment to service. Competence is required to make effective use of written or graphical information.
All employees are required to work in accordance with established Company Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current company and UK legal requirements. Employees must comply with Company Health & Safety requirements and set a personal example of safe behaviour at all times. Employee must adhere to the use of a handheld device for reporting work activities and any future technology introduced to enhance real time reporting.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience in Lift Servicing/ Maintenance/ Repairs preferred.
- Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift maintenance.
- The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Flexibility.
- Good problem solving skills.
- Good communication skills at different levels (client/Inspectors/Managers).
- Full UK driving License required.
