Cityworx are recruiting on behalf of an established care provider, who are looking for a full time, female only, driver, for a full time Live-In Care Worker. We are seeking a compassionate, proactive, and confident female live-in carer to support a 45-year-old female client who has a T2-T6 spinal cord injury. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in someone's journey toward regaining independence.

About the Client:

  • A highly independent and determined individual currently in a rehabilitation unit.
  • You will be required to spend up to 6 weeks alongside healthcare professionals helping to enable her to transition to home life.
  • Lives in a fully accessible and adapted home to support independent living.
  • Uses a power wheelchair and is learning to drive a wheelchair-accessible vehicle.
  • Manages bowel/bladder and personal care independently, requiring support only if needed.
  • Has a dog – so a love for animals is essential!

Carer Profile:

  • Female, aged 30-45 (as requested by the client).
  • Driver with a valid UK driving licence – own car not essential.
  • Comfortable working in a home with a dog.
  • Patient, empowering, and willing to be directed by the client.
  • Open to learning bespoke routines from physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and psychologists during the rehab period.
  • Has a passion for living an active life, will act as a companion and empower our client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist client during rehabilitation and transitioning home.
  • Support with exercises and routines advised by therapists.
  • Enable client’s independence at home rather than doing tasks for them.
  • Accompany client to appointments and outings once home-based.
  • Be emotionally supportive, flexible, and responsive to the client’s preferences.
