NG Bailey is seeking a General Maintenance Operative to join our team and contribute to the upkeep of a prestigious Client head office in the Battersea area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual looking to take the next step in their career. You will start in a hands-on role with the potential to advance to a technician position as you gain experience.
In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of general and semi-skilled maintenance tasks, while also having the opportunity to assist with larger, more complex projects. Some key deliverables in this role will include:
- Performing general building fabric repairs (e.g., walls, doors, skirting boards) and basic decorating tasks
- Conducting minor plumbing and electrical repairs, ensuring systems are functioning effectively
- Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), including tasks like emergency lighting checks and lamp replacements
- Completing fabric inspections and identifying any required remedial works
- Keeping site documentation up-to-date for both internal and external audits
- Proactively identifying areas of improvement to ensure high standards of service delivery
- Assisting in the supervision of sub-contractors to ensure compliance with health and safety standards
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Hands-on experience with general repairs, including building fabric and minor plumbing and electrical work
- A solid understanding of Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks
- Ability to take a proactive approach to maintenance, spotting issues before they escalate
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- A keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards
