This vibrant and thriving secondary school located in the Southampton area is seeking a dedicated and proactive Temporary School Caretaker/Site Officer to join their friendly team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation and safety of our school site.

- 10.30 to 17.30pm
- 37 hours working week

What's involved?
As our Temporary School Caretaker/Site Officer, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks to maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning school environment. This will include:
- General maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., fixing door handles, unblocking drains, basic plumbing and carpentry).
- Ensuring the security of the school premises, including locking and unlocking buildings and responding to alarm activations (as required).
- Setting up and clearing away furniture and equipment for school events and activities.
- Maintaining the school grounds, including litter picking, ensuring pathways are clear and safe, and basic gardening tasks.
- Monitoring and managing heating, lighting, and other building systems.
- Liaising with external contractors as required.
- Assisting with deliveries and moving equipment/supplies.
- Adhering to health and safety regulations and reporting any potential hazards.
- Providing support to staff and students with site-related requests.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Practical and has a good understanding of general maintenance tasks.
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently.
- Organised and able to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Aware of health and safety procedures.
- A good communicator with a friendly and helpful manner.
- Physically fit and able to undertake manual handling tasks.
Ideally, you will have previous experience in a similar role, although this is not essential. A commitment to the safeguarding and well-being of children is required. An enhanced DBS on the update service is essential for this role.
