Are you an experienced commercial contract lawyer seeking a flexible, part-time role with an in-house legal team? We’re currently partnering with a well-known business based in Glasgow that is looking for a skilled Contract Lawyer to support their UK Legal Counsel on a part-time basis (2 days per week).

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented legal professional with a strong foundation in UK contract law to step into a key advisory position, helping shape commercial decisions and mitigate risk across a broad range of agreements.

The Role:

  • As part of a small but busy in-house legal team, your responsibilities will include:
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts (including service agreements and employment-related contracts).
  • Ensuring all agreements align with current legislation and regulatory requirements, including data protection and employment law.
  • Supporting the business with risk management through identifying and addressing legal exposure in contracts.
  • Participating in negotiations with external stakeholders to secure favourable terms.
  • Providing clear and practical legal advice to internal teams across departments.
  • Managing contract records and supporting occasional dispute resolution processes.
  • Offering ad-hoc cover and support to the UK Legal Counsel when required.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified solicitor in Scotland with at least 5 years’ post-qualified experience.
  • Strong background in contract law, ideally from an in-house environment.
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and advisory skills.
  • Ability to manage workload independently while collaborating with internal stakeholders.
  • Confidence working on a wide range of commercial agreements.
