About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Lawyer to join a dynamic in-house legal team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially focused solicitor with broad experience across commercial contracts, corporate/M&A, IP/IT, and data privacy, compliance, Competition to step into a high-impact role at a key stage of business growth.

You will provide proactive, solution-oriented legal support to stakeholders across the business, helping to drive commercial outcomes while ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts including supply, procurement, distribution, licensing, SaaS, and service agreements.
  • Provide legal support on corporate transactions, including M&A, reorganisations, and due diligence.
  • Advise on intellectual property and technology matters, including licensing and brand protection.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection laws (UK GDPR) and support the business on privacy governance.
  • Partner with internal business units (e.g. procurement, finance, IT, marketing) to provide pragmatic and commercially sound legal advice.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of legal templates, policies, and training where needed.
  • Liaise with external counsel as required.

Key Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with 8+ years’ PQE (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong in-house or private practice experience across commercial, corporate, IP/IT, and data privacy, Life Science.
  • Track record of managing complex contracts and providing commercially focused legal advice.
  • Able to work independently, handle competing priorities, and build trust with stakeholders.
  • Available to start immediately or within 1 month.
