Key Responsibilities:
- Create visually appealing and user-friendly website designs, including mock-ups and prototypes.
- Conduct user research and testing to optimize website usability and user experience.
- Develop and maintain brand consistency across all digital platforms.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends and technologies.
- Translate design mock-ups into clean, efficient, and well-documented code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript; an understanding of server-side coding would be beneficial).
- Develop responsive websites that adapt seamlessly to different screen sizes and devices.
- Implement website functionality using JavaScript and other relevant technologies.
- Collaborate with back-end developers to integrate front-end with back-end systems.
- Communicate clearly and concisely about design and technical concepts.
- Present design concepts and technical ideas.
- Contribute to the development of design guidelines and best practices.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
- We will consider anyone for this position regardless of formal qualifications. Experience or a willingness to learn are more important to us.
- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, colour theory, and layout.
- Experience in creating mock-ups and prototypes.
- A portfolio showcasing a range of design styles and projects.
- Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, especially the relationship between well-crafted HTML and CSS.
- Experience with responsive web design and mobile-first development.
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks and libraries, mainly Bootstrap, but other libraries might be a bonus.
- Knowledge of version control systems (We use Git).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a passion for creating high-quality work.
