We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual with a strong background in Mathematics education and a passion for delivering excellence.
As the Head of Maths, you will have the opportunity to lead and shape the Mathematics department, working closely with a team of experienced teachers to create a stimulating and engaging learning environment. You will play a key role in developing and implementing the curriculum, ensuring that students receive a high-quality education that prepares them for success in higher education and beyond. In addition, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with other Heads of Department and senior leadership to contribute to the overall strategic direction of the school. This role offers a platform for professional growth and the chance to make a significant impact on the education of our students.
Responsibilities:- Lead and manage the Maths department, ensuring the delivery of an outstanding Maths curriculum.
- Provide instructional leadership and support to Maths teachers, fostering a culture of high academic achievement.
- Monitor and assess student progress in Mathematics, implementing effective strategies to support their learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver engaging and innovative Maths lessons.
- Mentor and support Maths teachers in their professional development, providing guidance and feedback.
- Contribute to the school's Maths program and extracurricular activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behaviour.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Specialization in Mathematics or a related field.
- Postgraduate degree in Mathematics or Mathematics Education (preferred).
- Extensive experience in teaching Mathematics, preferably in a leadership role.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Mathematics curriculum.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of the latest pedagogical approaches in Mathematics education.
