JDRoss have partnered with a key client who are looking for a Primary Design Engineer to join their engineering team. You will contribute towards the effective execution of the primary engineering functions within projects and tenders.
Overall responsible for managing & leading all primary engineering activities from project start, keeping strict adherence to project specifications.
- Review of HV plant design packages as per NG/ET/SR188.
- Submitting completed Design Packages for Design Compliance Audit.
- Ensuring all design changes are managed in accordance with the design change management process defined as per NG.
- Attending Design Review meetings (DRMs) and Hazard review meetings (HRMs) as required.
- Review and certify the design packages and issue the DCAAR.
- Provide information for civil designs and coordination of interfaces between construction planning, steel structure engineering, protection and control system, auxiliary power system and all equipment suppliers for the project.
- Primary engineering budget, schedule, forecast, risk & change management activities.
- Primary engineer of large and complex EHV/HV Air & Gas Insulated Substation (AIS & GIS) projects in the UK.
- Provide technical solution for substations comprising Single line diagram, technical information, layouts and associated detail drawings and documents by established applicable standards, processes and customer specifications through allocated resources remotely.
- Prepare Design Intent Document (DID) / Functional Design Specification (FDS) based on supplier inputs.
- Reviewing supplier deliverables based on project specifications and standards.
- Provide technical calculations and schedules for all equipment for projects or tenders.
- Review of Suppliers design and Factory acceptance test plans.
- Provide technical support and to develop tender scheme options and related project scope documents.
