The role of the Area Sales Manager will involve:
- Field sales role selling a manufactured range of high-end composite door and window hardware.
- Selling (high volume) directly to composite window and door manufacturers and fabricators.
- Remainder of time (low volume) selling to window and door hardware distributors.
- Looking after circa 20 volume manufacturers and 30-35 window and door hardware distributors (VBH, Carl F Group, Selco etc.).
- Predominantly a new business role, breaking into new window and door manufacturers and fabricators.
- Smaller amount of time expanding and increasing product spend from existing accounts.
- Growing the area from £1m to £1.5m.
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager with:
- Must have sold into composite window and door manufacturers or fabricators.
- New business hunter (this is not a milk round).
- Ambitious, half the sales team will be retiring over the next 4-5 years.
- Demonstrable track record of field sales.
- Knowledge of architectural ironmongery, window and door hardware, panic hardware, security hardware or doorsets preferred.
- Capable of managing and expanding existing accounts.
- Team player, likable character able to deal with all levels of responsibility.
- Intelligent and good empathy.
