An exciting interim opportunity has opened up for a Chief Digital Information Officer to lead digital and tech strategy supporting two local authorities in the South of England. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, this role is pivotal in shaping digital innovation and driving high-performing tech services across both councils.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the IT and Digital function, ensuring robust, user-focused service delivery and performance
  • Set and steer the digital and data strategy, aligned with the goals of both councils
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, councillors, and external partners
  • Champion a culture of collaboration and high performance across two diverse teams

What we’re looking for:

  • A proven leader with a track record of delivering impactful digital transformation in complex environments
  • Deep experience in public sector or similarly political environments, with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Confident managing hybrid, geographically dispersed teams while promoting unity and a shared vision
  • Commercially minded, with an eye for improving efficiency and user experience

This is a great fit for someone who brings both strategic vision and operational rigour, and who knows how to lead with clarity, creativity and confidence in a complex, multi-stakeholder setting.
