The Site Lean Leader at the Wales Engine Overhaul site will be responsible for leading the implementation and continuous improvement of GE Aerospace's proprietary lean operating model, FLIGHT DECK, at the site level. This role will focus on driving operational excellence through lean principles, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Additionally, the leader will oversee site transformation initiatives linked to model line creation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the deployment of FLIGHT DECK (internal lean operating model) across the Wales Engine Overhaul site, ensuring alignment with GE Aerospace's strategic objectives.
  • Develop and execute lean transformation plans, including Kaizen events, Hoshin Kanri (HK), Standard Work, and other lean methodologies.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and eliminate waste, improve processes, and enhance productivity.
  • Train and mentor site personnel on FLIGHT DECK principles and tools.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to SQDC.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
  • Drive quality improvements to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Optimize delivery processes to ensure timely and efficient production.
  • Manage cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high standards of quality and delivery.
  • Oversee site transformation initiatives linked to model line creation, ensuring these lines serve as benchmarks for best practices and operational excellence.
  • Implement and uphold FLIGHT DECK Fundamentals, which include standard work, visual management, problem-solving, and continuous improvement practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of lean principles, including Kaizen, Kata, Hoshin Kanri (HK), and Standard Work.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive change across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safety and quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Familiarity with GE Aerospace's FLIGHT DECK operating model.
