About the Role: My client is seeking a Project Manager / Product Development Lead to join their dedicated and collaborative team. This role is ideal for a proactive, hands-on professional with a passion for product development who is eager to work across the entire product lifecycle. You’ll play a lead role in a dynamic team designing and manufacturing cutting-edge medical devices that make a positive impact on the world.
- Project Management: Lead the development of an innovative medical treatment platform, managing all phases including planning, specification, design, verification, validation, and transfer to manufacturing. Develop and adapt the project strategy in alignment with customer strategic needs. Maintain effective communication with customers, senior management, and project teams, providing clear oral and written updates and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Team Leadership: Effectively lead cross-functional project teams, including mechanical and electronics engineers, ensuring clear communication and alignment to meet project timelines and objectives.
- Project Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, schedules, and communication strategies to prioritise tasks and address escalations effectively.
- Risk Management: Identify project challenges, assess risks, and implement solutions to mitigate potential impacts. Ensure all project deliverables adhere to company quality management systems (QMS) and regulatory documentation standards. Manage internal and external resources, including suppliers, subcontractors, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Electronics-related subject, with experience in product development project management.
- Proven track record in a product development environment (ideally on a medical device).
- Demonstrated project management experience leading a design engineering team and managing project scope, schedule, and ideally budget.
- Passionate about driving projects forward across departments, from initiation to completion.
- Experience working within the Medical Devices (preferred), pharmaceuticals, or other highly regulated sectors.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, particularly ISO 13485, IEC 62304, and IEC 60601.
- Formal Project Management training (e.g. Prince2 Practitioner, PMP).
- Driving license and flexibility for occasional travel.
