Are you a naturally happy, friendly and helpful person, great with customers even when working alone and under pressure? Are you good at juggling many tasks at the same time? We are currently looking for an Hotel Receptionist to join the Grim’s Dyke Hotel team to help us drive customer care standards and support the property as it moves onto the next chapter of its history. The nature of hotels does mean shift work and weekends so this role won’t be suitable everyone but this a real opportunity if you are keen, bright and have ambition to grow and develop in the hospitality sector, an opportunity for you to make your mark without all the constraints of a big brand. We are an independent, privately owned, 4 silver star hotel with 47 bedrooms. The manor house is a lovely Grade 2* listed manor house and we are set in approx. 100 acres of beautiful parkland and formal gardens on the outskirts of London near Harrow Weald (close to Bushey, Oxhey, Stanmore, Pinner and Wealdstone). In addition to a competitive salary you will get the usual 28 days paid leave entitlement, varying ad hoc incentives, free meals on duty, free car parking, preferential staff rates within Best Western and at the hotel, the opportunity to take on an apprenticeship or vocational training/qualification and work in a fantastic setting – not stuck in an office building in the middle of town! We’re a small friendly team but the role does come with some challenges so we are looking for someone that will make a real difference and not someone looking for an easy ride. The role will include early and late shift duties as well as weekends and public/bank holidays as required by the business. Experience: Hotel Reception Experience: ideally min 6 months Ideally previous Best Western experience and Rezlynx but not essential In the first instance please email me your current CV along with a brief statement explaining why you are the best candidate for Grims Dyke Hotel. The right candidate will have the opportunity to progress to Duty Manager and support with Conference and Banqueting.
