We are seeking an enthusiastic Assistant or Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join our team, supporting cost management on high-end residential and other bespoke projects.
We are looking for a motivated Assistant/Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to assist in the commercial management of our London projects, with a focus on groundworks and structural works. Based in our Bromley office, you will handle cost estimation, subcontractor coordination, and support the Senior Quantity Surveyor / Directors to ensure project profitability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for groundworks and structural works across London projects.
- Support subcontractor procurement, issuing enquiries, evaluating quotations, and negotiating contracts.
- Monitor project costs, track variations, and prepare interim valuations and payment applications.
- Collaborate with project teams in Bromley and on London sites to ensure accurate cost reporting and forecasting.
- Manage subcontractor accounts, process payments, and resolve commercial disputes.
- Maintain cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and commercial documentation.
- Support the Senior Quantity Surveyor in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
- Experience as an Assistant or Intermediate Quantity Surveyor in UK construction, ideally with groundworks or structural works exposure.
- Knowledge of cost management, including estimating, valuations, and subcontractor procurement.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Excel) and familiarity with construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC).
