An established and highly regarded national audit, tax, and advisory firm is seeking a qualified Audit Assistant Manager to join their growing audit team, with a specific focus on corporate clients. The Opportunity:

This role provides a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant to lead audit engagements from planning through to completion, managing both clients and teams. Working with a diverse portfolio, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality audits while supporting and developing more junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead statutory audit engagements, managing the full audit cycle from planning through to sign-off.
  • Act as the main contact for clients during on-site audit work, building strong and trusted relationships.
  • Supervise, support, and develop audit team members, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Deliver insightful, high-quality reporting in line with professional standards.
  • Take ownership of smaller client portfolios and assist on larger, more complex group audits.
  • Monitor work in progress and billing, ensuring profitability across assignments.
  • Provide proactive, practical business advice and flag complex issues to senior management or partners.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives within the team and wider firm.

What You’ll Need:

  • ACA / ACCA (or equivalent) qualification with full membership of a recognised accounting body.
  • Proven experience managing audits in a UK accountancy practice, particularly within the corporate sector.
  • Excellent understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS, including experience of working on complex group audits and with component auditors.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Commercial acumen and a desire to add value to clients beyond compliance.
