They are now looking for a driven and enthusiastic individual to join their team as a Level 4 Network Engineering Apprentice. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience, industry-recognised qualifications, and a solid foundation in IT networking and support.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Act as the first point of contact for technical issues, providing first-line resolutions or escalating appropriately.
  • Prioritise, monitor, and resolve incidents and requests within SLA timelines.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network devices and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient problem resolution.
  • Proactively identify and report recurring IT infrastructure issues and suggest root causes.
  • Participate in major incident response, including ticket creation, impact assessment, and escalation.
  • Document new and common technical issues in the knowledge base (KBAs).
  • Support new employee onboarding, including laptop builds, access provisioning, and basic IT training.
  • Monitor and manage ticket queues, assisting in backlog reduction and workload balancing.
  • Identify equipment and system access requirements for new users.
  • Deliver a high-quality customer experience through consistent communication and support.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £20,000 per annum
  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (8:30am - 4:30pm)
  • 20 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays (increasing with length of service)

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (essential).
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Organised and able to manage workload effectively.
  • Professional attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 environments (Office 365, Teams, SharePoint, Exchange).
  • Previous experience in a service desk or customer support environment is a plus.
  • Understanding of hardware and software diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • GCSE Grade 4/C in English and grade 4/C in Maths is required for this role.

Your Training with Baltic:

You will be enrolled in a Level 4 Apprenticeship in Network Engineering, providing you with formal qualifications and practical skills. You’ll also have access to one-to-one mentoring sessions with senior team members and on-the-job training that aligns with your career goals.
