An award-winning financial services company in Chelmsford is looking for an experienced IT Systems Engineer to join their growing team. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a salary of up to £55,000 per annum. The role is fully office-based, Monday to Friday; remote or hybrid working is not available.

The Role: You will play a key part in managing and maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for installation, configuration, monitoring, and support of systems and networks, while also contributing to major IT projects and improvements.

  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, servers, and IT infrastructure.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure high availability.
  • Perform routine system checks, backups, and patching.
  • Provide technical support via phone and email across multiple systems.
  • Work closely with the Network Operations Centre to ensure continuity of service.
  • Manage service desk queues and handle unassigned tickets in a timely manner.
  • Support office moves and new user setups.
  • Maintain accurate records for cabling, patching, and asset management.
  • Lead technical elements of key infrastructure and application projects.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong experience working in an Azure environment in a systems or infrastructure role.
  • Solid knowledge of Windows Server 2019/2022, VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 administration.
  • PowerShell scripting experience for automation tasks.
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery tools such as Veeam, AvePoint, BackupExec, or Redstor.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Financial services experience is desirable but not essential.

This role is based in Chelmsford, Monday to Friday. The position is fully onsite with no remote or hybrid working options.
