Our client, an employee-owned and growing IFA in Essex, is seeking a motivated and experienced Independent Financial Adviser / Financial Planner (IFA). In this role, you will build long-term client relationships, provide expert financial advice, and help clients achieve their financial goals. You will manage portfolios, generate new business, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

There are legacy clients to review and generate new business from and full paraplanning, admin and marketing support, but you will need to be able to network and self-generate new business in order to grow your client book.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering tailored financial planning advice.
  • Provide expert guidance on pensions, investments, protection, and inheritance tax planning.
  • Regularly review and manage client portfolios to align with financial goals and risk profiles.
  • Generate new business through referrals, networking, and proactive outreach.
  • Ensure all advice and recommendations comply with FCA regulations and company standards.
  • Conduct research to identify suitable financial products and solutions.
  • Collaborate with support teams to streamline the advisory process.
Key Requirements:
  • Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (required).
  • Ideally a proven track record as an Independent Financial Adviser, although Associate Financial Planners (not yet CAS) will also be considered if you can show the drive and capability to win new business.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial information.
  • Proficient in financial planning software and CRM systems (e.g., Intelligent Office).
  • Self-motivated with excellent organisational skills.

Our client offers the option of either a basic salary and then a percentage of all fees generated (new and trail) above 2.5x salary, or you can take a commission only model (but with an employed contract and associated benefits) where you will take a percentage of all business, new and trail, from day one.
