Pertemps Daventry are currently recruiting for a Workshop Fitter for one of our established companies based in Daventry.
Job Purpose: To carry out essential maintenance/servicing of a variety of hydraulic equipment, diagnose technical problems and repair or replace spare parts that are subject to wear.
Job Responsibilities:
- Completion of inspection of equipment assigned by the Workshop Foreman. Ensuring that all equipment is thoroughly inspected and the relevant job card completed both neatly and accurately.
- Repair a variety of hydraulic equipment as assigned by the Workshop Foreman.
- Ensure all equipment repairs and refurbishments are carried out safely and to the standards set by the Company.
- Ensure the maintenance of equipment is carried out to the required standard.
- From time to time you will also be required to work at customer locations as part of the company’s on-site services. This work is dependent on the contracts that the company has in hand at any given time. Your selection for duty on site is subject to Management discretion.
- Prepare repair quotations and job cards as instructed by the Workshop Foreman.
- Report any unsafe conditions to the Workshop Foreman such that remedial action can be taken to manage the risk.
- Other tasks as deemed reasonable by the company which fall within your competencies.
- Complies with all company rules including all Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements.
- Driving/deliveries may be necessary at the company’s discretion.
- A representative of the Company ensuring a high level of courtesy and professionalism to customers.
Candidate Requirements:
- Engineering, Technical or Mechanical background/work experience required.
- Hardworking, conscientious and must be able to carry out all aspects of the role.
- Ideally holds a valid driving license and a minimum of 3 years driving experience.
- Dependable and self-motivated.
Working Hours: 39 per week Monday to Friday with a half hour unpaid break for lunch. Normal working hours are 8.00am until 4.30pm, Monday to Thursday with a half hour unpaid break for lunch and 8.00am until 3.30pm on a Friday with a half hour unpaid break for lunch. Plus fantastic benefits.
