About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Construction Manager to oversee the substructure and superstructure packages on a prestigious new build RC frame commercial project in Reading. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a market-leading Tier 1 contractor with a proven track record in delivering high-profile and complex projects across the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the construction activities from start to finish, ensuring all substructure and superstructure works are completed to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the substructure and superstructure packages, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Coordinate and collaborate with subcontractors, site teams, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor and manage health, safety, and environmental practices on-site, ensuring compliance with all regulations and company policies.
- Ensure effective communication and reporting across all project teams, providing regular updates on progress, risks, and challenges.
- Oversee the planning and scheduling of work activities, identifying potential delays and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure that all documentation, including quality control, site records, and reports, is maintained and up to date.
- Lead and mentor junior staff and operatives, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Construction Manager with expertise in substructure and superstructure packages, ideally on RC frame commercial projects.
- Solid knowledge of construction techniques, project management principles, and industry regulations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Experience working with Tier 1 contractors or similar high-profile projects.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field (desirable).
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) and First Aid certification (required).
- Experience with project management software and planning tools.
