We are pushing the technical boundaries associated with advanced tactical sensing, data fusion, communications, machine learning and defensive aids systems. This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to play a fundamental role in our Business execution as a Lead Configuration Engineer to support our Combat Air Sector.
As a Lead of a Configuration & Data Management team, you are expected:
- To drive a pro-active approach into IPT’s
- To create a culture of encouraging new ideas and innovative solutions into the IPT and the Line of Business (LoB)
- To manage the team to deliver agreed Work packages into the IPT to cost and schedule
- To act as a coach and mentor
As an individual, you are expected:
- To resolve C&DM issues within an IPT by making proposals and driving through solutions
- To provide a C&DM Basis of Estimate (BoE) into Work packages
- To build and manage Customer and Supplier relationships
- To demonstrate self-management and development of self and others
- To provide C&DM input to Business wide Process Improvement initiatives
- To provide C&DM training to all disciplines within an IPT as required
- To develop and promote knowledge and use of PLM and associated Engineering tools
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required
- A good understanding of Configuration Management in accordance with DEF STAN 05-57.
- Excellent practical understanding of the five key elements of Configuration Management: Planning, Identification, Change Management, Status Accounting and Audit / Verification (essential)
- Experience of and practical application of CM2 methodology (desired)
- Configuration Management experience in the development of Safety critical products
- Use of Product Management Tools (essential) - Teamcenter version 13 (Unified) and SAP (desired)
- Strong Administration Skills with an attention to detail - you are required to have a logical mind-set
