As an Emissions Engineer you will work in the automotive engineering area. In this role you will be focused on regulatory guidance, certification, and conformance services. The role is central to ensuring the automotive manufacturing business can sell products globally with the necessary emissions standards in place including UN154 compliance & rollout across all other markets (North America & Rest of the world).
Your responsibilities:
- Deploying a clear explanation of engine emissions certification requirements, the associated legal obligations and business processes.
- Coaching associated business areas on certification requirements to ensure timely execution of certification work streams.
- Leading the execution of engine emissions certifications from receipt of request, through certificate received, to emissions label implementation.
- Maintaining owned emissions certificates and associated labels through life of production.
- Developing / fostering a collaborative relationship with global governmental agency representatives.
Your Profile
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
- Strong understanding of engine and powertrain technologies, including electrified powertrains.
- Combustion engine and aftertreatment calibration testing experience.
- Engine performance and emissions certification test experience.
- Hands-on experience in obtaining engine emissions certification.
- Knowledge and experience of various data systems including but not limited to CANalyzer.
- Knowledge of Engine management interface software.
- Good verbal and written communication.
Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or automotive engineering; An engineering or legal education / background.
- Experience in automotive engine emissions and OBD calibration.
- A strong customer mindset.
- Good understanding of hybrid powertrain systems regulatory compliance.
