What you’ll be doing: This role will be to provide specialist technical support to Investment Operations and the Asset Allocation teams within the Investment Business Unit. The role will include a range of activities covering all portfolios. These tasks will typically cover one of two areas: 1) day to day fund monitoring and 2) fund performance collation and analysis.
- Provide support to the Head of Investment Operations / Investment Operations Manager with the technical analysis for all critical Investment Team and business-related projects, i.e., segregated accounts, creating VBA and macro excel spreadsheets to support the same, whilst incorporating proprietary systems as and when required.
- Manage and coordinate deep dive analysis of trading positions, cash flows, performance attribution, & price comparisons in relation to Index movements, benchmark divergence etc., ensuring external parties have conducted their pricing functions correctly to reflect the true market movements over set periods to agreed SLA and IMA.
- Assist the Head of Investment Operations / Investment Operations Manager in defining the reporting requirements for each business area. Work collaboratively with departments to ensure ongoing reporting continues to meet business needs. Ensure oversight of timely delivery of this reporting to internal and external parties.
- Provide support to the Head of Asset Allocation, typically in relation to performance aggregation, breakdowns and analysis (including areas like FX).
- Generate and collate datasets to produce materials used in different investment committees.
- Provide input to and sense check board papers specifically relating to performance.
What we’re looking for: At least 5 years’ experience working within the financial industry. Working towards CFA, IMC or equivalent qualification. Experience of working in an investment or pension environment and being able to demonstrable understanding of financial markets. Experience in oversight, monitoring and measurement of fund performance. Quantitative competencies and familiarity with programming.
