Our client is seeking a Junior Legal Counsel to join its London-based team. This is a broad in-house role, ideal for a newly qualified solicitor looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic scale-up environment. You will support a wide range of legal, commercial, and compliance matters as part of a small legal team, reporting directly to the General Counsel.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts including vendor agreements, NDAs, and commercial partnerships.
- Provide legal guidance across departments such as product, marketing, operations, and customer service.
- Support equity-related matters, including growth and share option schemes.
- Work alongside compliance and DPO teams to ensure adherence to financial and data protection regulations.
- Monitor legal risks, help manage complaints, claims, and potential disputes.
- Review technology-related agreements such as SaaS and software licensing contracts.
- Partner with teams including product, engineering, and business development to align legal input with operational goals.
- Provide legal input for ESG-related initiatives and sustainability strategies.
Requirements:
- England & Wales qualified solicitor (NQ–2 years PQE)
- Sound understanding of commercial law, corporate governance, and data protection
- Proactive and commercially aware, with excellent drafting skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Fluency in English; additional languages a plus
- Interest in AI tools and legal tech is an advantage
