Are you an experienced Materials Controller looking for your next interim opportunity in London? One of London’s most vital transport operations is currently seeking an experienced Material Controller to join their expanding team.
Duration: 6-month contract - starting ASAP
Working Pattern: Fully on-site across Acton, Southwark, and Stratford.
Working hours: Monday to Thursday (7:30am–3:30pm) with a half-day on Fridays (7:30am–12:30pm).
As a Material Controller, you’ll support the Materials Manager to optimise inventory levels and material availability, ensuring performance, safety, and cost-efficiency across the asset base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the flow of materials within the manufacturing environment
- Utilising MRP/ERP systems to ensure materials are available to meet production schedules
- Raising requisitions and expediting supplier deliveries
- Working from forecasts to plan material requirements
- Analysing and manipulating data to support procurement activities
You’ll work cross-functionally with Commercial, Engineering, and Procurement teams to deliver a high-quality materials management capability tailored to evolving business needs.
Key Requirements:
- Background in manufacturing materials management, including MRP/ERP systems
- Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and Vlookup
- Experience raising requisitions and expediting suppliers
- Ability to work from forecasts and manipulate data for decision-making
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with suppliers and production personnel
