Our client is an industry leader in waste management, recycling and environmental solutions. We are recruiting a Maintenance Fitter who will work on night shift, carrying out preventative maintenance on plant, recycling and processing equipment.

Monday to Thursday 10 hour shifts with night shift allowance salary in £42 - 43k range.

The Role

  • Promote and uphold a "Safety First" culture across the site.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards, as well as company policies and regulations.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of machinery, plant, and equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues promptly.
  • Carry out the installation of machinery, plant, and equipment as needed.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to prepare and implement a planned maintenance schedule.
  • Respond to reactive maintenance requirements efficiently to minimise downtime and costs.
  • Immediately report issues or defects with machinery and take appropriate action.
  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects and actively contribute to team meetings.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, report on KPIs, and analyse variances to drive continuous improvement.
  • Assist with operator training for machinery and equipment when required.

What we are looking for

  • Apprentice qualified in a relevant trades such as Mechanical, Engineering, Fitting.
  • Industrial experience as a Maintenance Fitter/ Engineer.
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems on machinery.
  • Can read and understand technical drawings.
  • Can work alone or in a team.
  • Committed to safety and compliance within industrial settings.
