As part of unprecedented growth in projects across all sectors, Risktec is seeking experienced safety engineering professionals to support the delivery of our existing projects, as well as driving further growth in the business. We are keen to hear from applicants with experience in a high-hazard industry environment, particularly in rail, but with possible nuclear, clean energy, oil & gas background, with a willingness to transfer their skillset to work in rail.
Ideally this role will be based in Risktec's Derby or London offices, but we will also consider applicants in other geographical areas; flexible and hybrid working arrangements are also available.
Requirements
- Have a track record of producing safety engineering deliverables, including the use of both qualitative and quantitative safety engineering tools and techniques, across the project lifecycle in the rail industry.
- Have some awareness of CSM-RA and its processes.
- Support project delivery within your area of expertise, ensuring adherence to project budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
- Be willing to work on multiple, concurrent projects across technologies, from rolling stock to signalling to infrastructure.
- Collaborate with TV Rheinland's global rail teams to bid for and deliver major international projects.
- Have some knowledge of current UK safety legislation and the processes by which projects are safely delivered in one or more high-hazard industries.
- Be able to continuously enhance your own competence and technical knowledge at the forefront of the railway industry, expanding your areas of expertise.
- Be educated to degree level (or equivalent) within a science or engineering discipline, or equivalent academic qualifications.
- Have Professional accreditation/membership to a recognised organisation (e.g. CEng), or be on a path towards that status desirable but not required.
- Be fluent in spoken and written English.
