We are seeking a Power Systems Engineer to perform detailed studies and analyses of electrical power networks, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have expertise in load flow analysis, short-circuit studies, protection coordination, transient stability, and arc flash analysis. They will work with utilities, industrial clients, and consulting firms to provide data-driven solutions for power system planning, operation, and expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct power system studies, including:
  • Load flow and voltage stability analysis
  • Short-circuit and fault analysis
  • Protection coordination studies
  • Transient and dynamic stability studies
  • Arc flash hazard analysis
  • Harmonic and power quality assessments
  • Use industry-standard software such as ETAP, PSS/E, DigSILENT PowerFactory, or PSCAD to perform simulations and modelling.
  • Analyse and interpret study results, providing technical recommendations for system improvement and risk mitigation.
  • Develop technical reports, presentations, and documentation to support engineering decisions.
  • Support grid integration studies for renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
  • Assess relay protection schemes and coordinate protective device settings for transmission and distribution networks.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as IEEE, IEC, NERC, FERC, and local grid codes.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including utilities, EPC firms, and regulatory bodies, to optimize system performance.
  • Stay up to date with advancements in power system modelling, grid modernization, and emerging technologies.
  • Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
    • 3+ years of experience in power system analysis, modelling, and studies.
    • Proficiency in power system software tools such as ETAP, PSS/E, PSCAD, SKM, or CYME.
    • Strong understanding of transmission and distribution network operations, relay coordination, and system protection.
    • Familiarity with renewable energy integration, DER (Distributed Energy Resources), and microgrid studies.
    • Experience with arc flash analysis, harmonic studies, and power quality assessments.
    • Knowledge of IEEE/IEC standards, NERC/FERC regulations, and utility planning practices.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
    • Experience in high-voltage (HV) and extra-high-voltage (EHV) system studies.
    • Background in machine learning applications for power system optimization.
    • Project management and client interaction experience.
