We are looking for a passionate Bar Supervisor to join our Restaurants and Bars team at The Barnsdale Hotel. Our hotel overlooks the beautiful Rutland landscape with a picturesque courtyard, with a kitchen brigade providing fine dining using many ingredients sourced from the wealth of fine produce found in the locality. Encircled by idyllic surroundings on the north shore of Rutland Water, the hotel is a tranquil rural haven, close to the charming market towns of Oakham and Uppingham.

You will:

  • Support our wider food and beverage management team with the day to day running of the bar, in absence of our Bar Manager.
  • Maximise guest focus during every service by being present behind the bar.
  • Train and coach junior bartenders across our beverages, guiding them with best practice.
  • Motivate team members through incentives and competitions to maximise sales.
  • Stay up to date with menu knowledge and all menu changes.
  • Participate in the creation of wine lists, cocktail lists and events menus.
  • Carry out periodic stock takes, including ad-hoc ordering, and receiving deliveries.
  • Keep up to date with licensing legislation, liaising with the authorities and take legal responsibility for the sale of alcohol.
  • Ensure that all company rules and regulations relating to Hygiene, Health and Safety are being followed.
