This amazing long-term contract role for an IT Support Engineer is a unique opportunity to showcase your expertise and skills with a world leading motorsport business Mercedes AMG HPP, based in Brixworth, Northamptonshire.

You will be a key member within the team and the person that secures this position will be crucial to the success of Mercedes AMG on its F1 and Advanced Engineering projects. The role is based 100% on site in Brixworth and will be responsible for factory based F1 track support.

This role will include some factory-based track support of race weekends outside of normal working hours that will require some weekend and weekday late/night shift work.

We're looking for a candidate who has good experience in 1st and 2nd line IT support and who may be able to improve reliability and availability across the IT application and infrastructure landscape. Ideally, we're looking for a candidate with good knowledge and experience in:

  • Enterprise application, middleware and infrastructure technologies
  • Database support, administration and optimisation
  • Capacity, performance and availability monitoring
  • Security, vulnerability and malware threat prevention

Therefore we need you to:

  • Be skilled at troubleshooting, problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Prioritisation and self-management
  • Support and optimization of in-house and bespoke applications
  • Adapting to change, learning quickly in a fast paced environment

Demonstrate knowledge of:

  • Enterprise application, middleware and infrastructure technologies (Vmware, DHCP, DNS, AD, DFS, GPO, M365, Entra AD, MDM)
  • Database support, administration and optimisation (SQL)
  • Capacity, performance and availability monitoring (SCOM)
  • Security, vulnerability and malware threat prevention
  • Strong networking knowledge (LAN, WAN, WLAN)

Success in this role will be if you:

  • Step back and see the big picture and get involved in a ‘technical hands on way’, using your strong, current and broad ranging technical background to guide your instinct
  • Actively encourage teamwork and knowledge sharing
  • Deliver on operational and project based tasks, against demanding Service Level Agreements and challenging deadlines
  • Deliver quality without compromising performance
  • Be a strong point of escalation; seeing solutions that others can’t, and crucially, be keen to do so as quickly and efficiently as possible so that we can achieve our collective goals

The roles require the ability to deliver on both operational and project activities, against deadlines and SLAs. Thus flexibility is essential in this position.
