Our investment banking client is seeking an experienced data quality control and governance expert to join the Risk Market Data team. The main focus of this position is data quality operation and control activities across market risk and counterparty risk. This role serves as a subject matter expert and supports execution of a risk market data control program. This role is accountable for the daily risk data quality control and ongoing reporting, including implementation of a data control report framework and ongoing monitoring and remediation of any identified areas of weaknesses.
Core Responsibilities:
- Acting as the SME and liaising with front office, technology, and market and credit risk managers, and vendors to improve data governance framework at our client.
- Responsible for carrying out the required control processes to support the data governance framework.
- Act as second line of Defense to challenge and oversight controls framework set up by 1LoD.
- Defining Golden source of market data.
- Support control implementation in the target infrastructure (requirements, UAT testing…)
- Defining data standards, metrics, and measurement reporting approaches.
- Policy documentation.
Qualifications:
- Experience in market and finance data with a large financial institution.
- Experience in financial time series modeling and management.
- Data quality business process improvement experience.
- Experience in complex regulatory projects.
- Strong technical understanding of data architecture, data quality, market risk, counterparty risk, derivative trade data and related technologies from a data quality management perspective.
Skills:
- Excellent presentation and communication skills with direct experience working with senior management and regulators.
- Strong coding skills. Proficient in Python, SQL and other tools related to data engineering.
- Strong complex project management skills.
- Experience identifying financial data quality problems and performing root cause analysis, and formulating potential solutions.
- Ability to partner and collaborate with individuals at all levels in the organization.
