Are you ready to take on a critical role in advancing the performance and reliability of high-power platforms? ALTEN UK is looking for a Senior Power Systems Engineer to support the design validation and electrical maturity of a major defence programme. Working on cutting-edge submarine power systems, you'll carry out detailed analysis and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to help shape the future of naval technology. Key Responsibilities:- Conduct load flow, short circuit, and stability analysis of complex power systems
- Manage and maintain the electrical load budget to support design development
- Develop and validate electrical models using industry-standard tools
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders on electrical power architecture
- Prepare and deliver technical reports, calculations, and presentations outlining findings and recommendations
- Support the verification and validation (V&V) activities of the electrical platform
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience working with high power and medium voltage distribution systems
- Hands-on experience with electrical load budget analysis and load flow studies
- Proficient in power system analysis tools such as ETAP, Simulink/Simscape, or MATLAB
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills within a technical environment
- Previous experience in the Defence, Aerospace, or high-integrity engineering sectors preferred
- Must be eligible for UKEO Security Clearance
