Key Responsibilities:
- You will have a variety of responsibilities over the apprenticeship including a rotation across various roles within the broader Group Procurement team.
- Sourcing Process: Carry out analysis of selected spend areas, including price benchmarking, supplier reviews, and market analysis. Involvement in planning negotiations and engaging with suppliers to purchase goods and services.
- Procurement Systems: Support the maintenance and updates of procurement systems and databases that underpin our work and provide critical information about our spending across the organisation.
- Purchase Requisition Processing: Process and approve purchase requisitions from various departments.
- Supplier Performance Monitoring: Help monitor supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Spend Data Analysis: Support the Procurement Manager to analyse tail spend, identify spend categories, and use procurement principles to reduce, consolidate, and simplify spend categories.
- Risk Management: Assist in identifying and mitigating risks in the supply chain, including supply shortages or price volatility.
Qualifications - What we're looking for:
- To qualify for the programme, you must be aged 16 or over and live in England. You cannot hold a degree qualification in any subject.
- We’re not expecting prior industry experience or in fact any work experience; just a willingness to learn and a positive attitude.

- Strong communication and administration skills and passion to support customers, whatever their personal circumstances.
- Confidence in using a desktop or laptop and experienced in using MS Office.

What is the assessment process?
- Application form: Captures essential information from candidate and is an opportunity to provide their CV.
- Online tests: Includes multiple choice questions and a video interview. The online test asks behavioral questions to understand candidates' strengths. There is also an analytical component assessing numerical reasoning skills. In the video interview, we ask 3 core questions focusing on motivation to join L&G, as well as the candidate's approach to learning.
- Assessment centre (either face-to-face or virtual) comprising:
- Group Exercise: Candidates work on a task in groups of up to 6 and are observed.
- Interview: Conducted by 2 assessors, lasting 45 minutes, including questions from the candidate, covering competency and commercial topics.
- Presentation: 15 minutes, including 10 minutes to present and 5 minutes for questions from the assessor.
