The Client: A market leading company which operates in the building services arena providing a first-class range of engineering consultation, design, installation and maintenance services to the construction industry. Our client has proven experience to complete complex and demanding mechanical and electrical engineering projects. The high quality of their people at every level within the organisation ensure they deliver marginal and major improvements at every stage from pre-construction to maintenance, whilst leading on health and safety regulations.
The Job Role:
- Participate in tender handover from estimating department.
- Prepare, submit and negotiate tenders as required within the team.
- Ensure adequate LOI or PO in place before work starts.
- Produce buying schedule in conjunction with PM.
- Ensure all subcontractors are on the approved list before using.
- Procure Subcontract packages, approve sub-contract orders ensuring compliance with specification, drawings and employment requirements.
- Negotiate subcontract payment terms.
- Produce project cash flow forecast.
- Prepare and submit client applications accurately and in a timely manner.
- Manage subcontract applications and ensure work packages are valued correctly and on time.
- Manage project correspondence and meeting attendance.
- Ensure monthly applications are certified on time and invoiced as appropriate.
- Manage and agree subcontract instructions and variations.
- Submit and agree client variations and manage change request process.
- Produce detailed take offs, understand and read design drawings.
- Ensure compliance with contractual procedures and agreed scope of works, issuing all contractual notifications for any changes to the agreed contract.
- Prepare, submit and agree the client final account.
- Conclude subcontract accounts.
- Risk Management- work with the Project Manager to produce and maintain risk and opportunity registers.
- Read, understand and implement the Company Health and Safety Policy at all times.
- Maintaining own continuous professional development (CPD) β keeping up to speed with new and likely changes which could affect the Quantity Surveying of future projects.
Experience and Knowledge Required:
- Must have M&E experience.
- Ideally come from a contractor background.
- Required experience on retail, commercial, healthcare, office, warehouse projects.
- QS degree desirable, but not essential.
- Ideally someone who has a minimum of 5 yearsβ experience.
- Hybrid working available, with 2 days WFH, and 3 days office/site based.
- Must be in commutable distance to the Epsom office in Surrey.

- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge/understanding including contract law, profit and loss, adjudication, variations and extensions of time.
