I’m working exclusively with a long-standing client in the RF and mmWave sector who are looking to appoint a Senior RF Filter Engineer at their facility in Leeds. The company designs and manufactures advanced RF and microwave subsystems used in satellite communications, high-frequency wireless links, and next-gen sensing systems. This is an opportunity to take ownership of complex filter and subsystem designs, playing a key role in product development from simulation through to production. Ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, customer collaboration, and contributing to innovation in high-frequency communications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full responsibility for RF/microwave filter and sub-system design, including simulation, prototyping, tuning, and validation.
- Support ongoing R&D into next-generation filter technologies.
- Collaborate with sales and applications teams during customer engagement and quotation phases.
- Produce and review design documentation—test specs, data packs, design logs, compliance matrices, and peer reviews.
- Conduct verification and validation testing, including power handling, temperature tests, and tuning using VNAs.
- Take part in design reviews, contributing to quality, performance, and risk mitigation.
- Provide support for product introduction, manufacturing transfer, and troubleshooting as required.
Requirements:
- Degree (or equivalent) in RF, Communications, or a related engineering field.
- Experience in RF/microwave filter design.
- Strong knowledge of DFM, tolerance/yield analysis, and filter simulation tools (Microwave Office, CST, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with tuning, measurement equipment, and environmental testing.
- Eligibility for UK Security Check (SC) clearance.
