A growing multi-utilities contractor is seeking a skilled Field Technician to join their Water Department supporting projects across Warrington and surrounding areas. This is a hands-on, field-based role ideal for someone with direct experience working on live water networks and engaging with customers in a professional and service-oriented manner. You’ll play a vital role in the maintenance and performance of the water infrastructure, working closely with operational teams and end-users to ensure quality, reliability, and safety at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance activities on water mains and valves, ensuring operational integrity
  • Perform customer sampling and quality checks in line with water safety regulations
  • Conduct leakage detection and repair support on the clean water network
  • Carry out meter reading duties accurately and efficiently
  • Liaise with customers to address service issues, access needs, and routine works
  • Install, test, and commission clean water services where required
  • Complete site risk assessments and maintain compliance with H&S procedures
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation, including sampling logs and work reports

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven experience working on clean water networks (mains and service pipes)
  • Confident in customer-facing roles, with good communication skills
  • Experience with sampling, leakage detection, and valve operations
  • EUSR National Water Hygiene card
  • NRSWA (Streetworks) certification
  • SHEA Water and/or CSCS card
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Strong understanding of water regulations and network procedures

Desirable

  • WIAPS / TAPS approved
  • Confined Space certification
  • GIS/GPS equipment familiarity
  • Background in multi-utility environments
