A growing multi-utilities contractor is seeking a skilled Field Technician to join their Water Department supporting projects across Warrington and surrounding areas. This is a hands-on, field-based role ideal for someone with direct experience working on live water networks and engaging with customers in a professional and service-oriented manner. You’ll play a vital role in the maintenance and performance of the water infrastructure, working closely with operational teams and end-users to ensure quality, reliability, and safety at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance activities on water mains and valves, ensuring operational integrity
- Perform customer sampling and quality checks in line with water safety regulations
- Conduct leakage detection and repair support on the clean water network
- Carry out meter reading duties accurately and efficiently
- Liaise with customers to address service issues, access needs, and routine works
- Install, test, and commission clean water services where required
- Complete site risk assessments and maintain compliance with H&S procedures
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation, including sampling logs and work reports
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience working on clean water networks (mains and service pipes)
- Confident in customer-facing roles, with good communication skills
- Experience with sampling, leakage detection, and valve operations
- EUSR National Water Hygiene card
- NRSWA (Streetworks) certification
- SHEA Water and/or CSCS card
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Strong understanding of water regulations and network procedures
Desirable
- WIAPS / TAPS approved
- Confined Space certification
- GIS/GPS equipment familiarity
- Background in multi-utility environments
