We're recruiting an exciting new position as CCTV Infrastructure Engineer, based from our St Helens Operation Centre, with a requirement to travel to our Centres in the North of the country.
In this role you will be a member of the IT Infrastructure team, reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, liaising with both the UK and US Tech teams, along with external CCTV providers. You will be responsible for the planning, installation, support and maintenance of all areas of our CCTV Access Control and other Security Systems equipment across a number of sites located across the UK and Ireland. You may be required to provide out of hours support to ensure that CCTV and the security of our sites is maintained.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the design, install, commissioning and maintenance of CCTV based security and fire detection systems
- Support and configuration of associated security hardware/software
- Install and configuration of wired and wireless networks
- You will be required to travel to and work at our various sites across the UK and Ireland, a company van will be provided.
- You should have excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to break down technical terminology into Layman’s terms for non-technical colleagues.
What we need from you:
Essential
- Previous experience in CCTV installation, commissioning and maintenance
- Security and cost-conscious CCTV design
- Knowledge of IP networks and CAT5/6 cabling
- Full UK driving licence
- Willing to stay and work away from home
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Health and safety and safe working environment knowledge
- The ability to adapt and learn new skills
- A strong team player who can work independently and is self-motivated
Desirable
- Experience of Milestone CCTV systems
- Experience of installing network switches and wireless AP’s
- Knowledge of Dahua, Hikvision and other CCTV manufacturers
- Experience of wireless and point to point wireless technology
- Liaison with CCTV monitoring centres
- General Knowledge of all security systems
