We were recently acquired by one of the US’s most exciting travel and tourism consultancies and are working closely with them on our next phase of growth and expansion.

The role

The Account Manager role is a key position within the Travel Trade team, providing support for the wider department as well as supporting on key accounts. This role allows the Account Manager to take responsibility and own key projects and events. The Account Manager will be fully supported by their Senior Account Manager / Account Director as well as the Head of Travel Trade.

We believe to be successful in this role the right person would have experience in destination management as well as having strong connections across the UK travel industry.

Key responsibilities

Industry

  • Coordinates/plans fam trips for the travel trade and where appropriate hosts on behalf of Black Diamond clients.
  • Attends trade events where appropriate. When attending trade events the AM should network and represent their clients in a positive, professional and proactive manner.
  • Conducts agent training (virtually and in person)
  • Develops and coordinates industry outreach (newsletter, assisting with agent queries) Seeks feedback to improve the performance of this outreach.

Client

  • Assists with report writing and collating insights.
  • Supports the overall account management.
  • Assists with trade show planning and attend shows and exhibitions on behalf of clients.
  • Can plan and manage client calls autonomously.
  • Has an understanding of the client and their core KPIs as agreed by the AD. When making decisions on behalf of the client, is able to take these into consideration.

In-house

  • Is a reliable, positive and proactive member of the Travel trade team. Provides support to the SAM and AD on their accounts.
  • Delivers administrative and logistical support autonomously for the travel trade team that is of a high standard.
  • Can manage their workload effectively and prioritise urgent and important tasks. Is able to be flexible and adapt to the needs of the clients / Black Diamond needs.
  • Communicates effectively with the SAM and AD on a regular basis to ensure they are supporting them on all relevant tasks.
  • Can deliver client events, including planning and hosting, autonomously with input from the SAD / AD where appropriate.
  • Works collaboratively with the account executive to ensure that all work is delivered on time and of the high standard.
