Job Description
Avencia are partnered with a global insurer who are looking to recruit an Assistant Underwriting Technician in London.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start their career in insurance, with no prior experience required.
The role
The team ensure efficient processing of technical information for the UK Branch and related entities within the group, in line with agreed authorities, service levels, and data quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Issue policies and documents promptly and accurately, ensuring compliance with underwriting and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain complete and accurate data across internal systems, resolving queries and errors promptly.
- Liaise with underwriters, brokers, and partners to ensure information accuracy and support programme processing.
- Handle bordereaux and e-accounting queries efficiently.
- Monitor and report on data quality, service standards, and process improvements.
- Support departmental projects, audits, and administrative tasks as required.
Skills & experience
- Strong academic background, ideally degree level.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and internal data systems.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to meet tight deadlines and manage workload effectively.
- Good numeracy, communication, and data awareness skills.
