Role Description

This is a role to join our new User Advisory Panel as a Panel Member at Legal Utopia. As a Panel Member, you will be expected to attend quarterly panel meetings and actively participate in the discussions, feedback sessions, and user research activities incorporated in them.

Panel Members would be expected to conduct pre-reading of shared materials, prototypes, and documents for panel meetings. Panel Members would utilise their experience and knowledge dealing with personal and workplace issues to express their views, opinions, and feedback on crucial product features, user-interface and experience design, as well as new service proposals and functionality, in panel meetings.

You must not be a member of the UK legal profession (regulated or unregulated), study or hold any legal qualification, or a user of Legal Utopia's services. You must be resident and living in the UK.

Scope

The Advisory Panel is established to gather valuable insights, feedback, and recommendations from Legal Utopia's customers and end-users to inform and enhance its user research activities, product development initiatives, and overall user experience improvements.

The Advisory Panel is not formed as a Board committee under the Companies Act 2006 or Legal Utopia's corporate governance. Panel Members are not required to act as company directors or non-executive directors.

Term

Panel Members are appointed by the Head of Design and an undetermined period.

Composition

The Panel shall consist of members of the British public representing a diverse demographic across regions, education, household income, age and alike. This is to secure a range of views captured from different individual circumstances and experiences. A equality, diversity, and inclusion survey must be completed at the application phase, see above, to achieve this purpose.

The Head of Design will facilitate panel meetings and activities, she will be responsible for running the panel meetings on behalf of Legal Utopia.

Commitment

Panel Members shall attend a quarterly panel meeting of up to 2 hours and actively participate. Meetings will generally be conducted virtually. There will be an expectation to participate in at least 1 individual 1-2-1 supplement meeting, observation, or interview session established as needed to address specific topics or initiatives as directed by the Head of Design.

Remuneration

Panel Members will be paid £50 per meeting. The same rate is applied to any special or supplement sessions or meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Attend quarterly panel meetings, of up to 2-hours each, and actively participate in the discussions, feedback sessions, and user research activities incorporated in them.
  • Conduct thorough pre-reading/review of materials, prototypes, and documents provided for any panel meetings.
  • Provide insights, feedback, and recommendations on Legal Utopia's UI/X design, product features, and functionality based on your views, experience, and trials.
