Quest Search and Selection is working with this multi-channel, multi-product company that has been established for over 150 years. The Senior Assistant Merchandiser will be managing and leading an Allocator and be accountable for driving sales and profit within a designated department by effectively planning and trading to achieve stock, sales, and margin targets.
Your responsibilities as a Senior Assistant Merchandiser include:
- Oversee the preparation of business plans, including scopes and range reviews for the division.
- Support the achievement of key divisional KPIs, including sales, stock, intake margin, markdown, and net margin.
- Collaborate with the buyer to plan the range, incorporating historical data, future trends, and seasonal factors.
- Analyse trading performance and historical trends to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Drive promotional activity and negotiate volume deals when appropriate.
- Ensure timely and accurate order placement to meet sales targets.
- Use sales data to forecast buying patterns and monitor stock levels.
- Maintain the buying calendar and manage the critical path with the wider team.
- Reforecast the WSSI and manage OTB to align with stock and sales requirements.
To be successful in this Senior Assistant Merchandiser position you will need:
- Ideally 2 years’ experience as Assistant Merchandiser/MAA or Senior Merchandise Admin Assistant or recent Junior Merchandiser.
- Support the division in purchasing the right volume of stock to maximise sales opportunities.
- Ensure stores maintain optimal stock levels, both on the shop floor and in the stockroom.
- Consistently receive positive feedback from peers, reflecting strong collaboration and communication.
- Working knowledge in WSSI Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
