Job Description
Overview:
A leading financial institution is seeking a Vice President – Leveraged Finance to join its London team. The role involves originating, structuring, and executing leveraged finance transactions, including leveraged loans and high-yield bonds for sponsor-backed and corporate clients across a range of sectors.
The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in leveraged finance, strong analytical and execution skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in English is required, with proficiency in German, Spanish, or French considered a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Origination & Execution: Lead the structuring and execution of leveraged loan and high-yield bond transactions, working closely with sponsors, corporates, and internal teams.
- Financial Modelling & Analysis: Develop and oversee detailed financial models, performing credit risk assessments and scenario analyses to support financing decisions.
- Due Diligence & Market Research: Conduct in-depth credit and industry analysis, providing insights into market trends and sector-specific risks.
- Internal Credit Process: Prepare and present investment cases to internal credit committees, including senior management and risk teams.
- Documentation & Negotiation: Review and negotiate legal documentation, including term sheets, credit agreements, and bond prospectuses, ensuring alignment with transaction objectives.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain and develop strong relationships with sponsors, corporate clients, banks, advisors, and other key market participants.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership, junior team members, and cross-functional teams to drive successful deal execution.
Key Requirements:
- 5-7 years of experience in leveraged finance, debt capital markets, or a related field within a top-tier bank, private credit fund, or investment firm.
- Strong credit risk analysis skills, with a deep understanding of leveraged capital structures.
- Advanced financial modelling capabilities, including LBO modelling and credit scenario analysis.
- Proven ability to manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment.
- Strong negotiation and documentation skills, with experience reviewing legal agreements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage directly with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in German, Spanish, or French is highly advantageous.
