Anderson Knight is currently looking for a Merchandising Manager for one of our clients based in the South Side of Glasgow. The Merchandising Manager plays an important role in driving the company’s revenue growth and brand visibility. This individual is responsible for strategising, planning, and executing merchandising initiatives that align with the company’s business objectives. The role includes managing product assortments, pricing strategies, inventory levels, and marketing activities to optimise sales in both retail and online channels. Key Responsibilities: * Develop and implement merchandising strategies that align with the company’s sales and marketing goals. * Conduct market research to understand consumer trends, competitor products, and pricing strategies. * Collaborate with design and production teams to align product development with customer demands. * Oversee the full lifecycle of products, including selection, introduction, and discontinuation. * Coordinate with inventory and supply chain teams to maintain optimal stock levels. * Analyse product performance and suggest adjustments to maximise profitability. * Work closely with retail teams to ensure proper product placement, promotional activities, and visual merchandising. * Collaborate with store managers to assess and enhance in-store displays and product presentations. * Train retail teams on product knowledge and merchandising standards. * Monitor sales data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of merchandising strategies. * Business development to maximise sales/revenue * Prepare and present reports on product performance, inventory turnover, and market trends. * Use data insights to identify growth opportunities and areas for improvement. * Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and partners. * Negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with vendors to ensure profitability. * Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and finance teams. * Develop and manage merchandising budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness. * Establish pricing strategies that balance competitiveness and profitability. Qualifications: Education: * Advanced degree or certification in merchandising or retail management is a plus. Experience: * 4+ years of experience in merchandising, preferably in a retail or manufacturing environment. * Proven track record of developing and implementing successful merchandising strategies. Skills: * Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions. * Excellent organizational and project management skills. * Proficient in merchandising tools and software (e.g., ERP, retail analytics platforms). * Strong communication and negotiation skills. * Creative mindset with a strong understanding of consumer behaviour and market trends.
